ROWENA MARIANO is a pianist classically trained at the Juilliard School in New York, NY, where she received the Gaston Dethier Scholarship Prize and earned both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance. She was featured as a soloist at Crêt-Bérard, Lausanne, Switzerland as part of a 2019 benefit concert for the humanitarian organization Medair. She has performed as a chamber group musician at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York, the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Maine, and in concerts in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Rowena loves playing for weddings because they are such happy occasions. Years ago, she even performed chamber music at her own wedding, as she believes that music defines the moment. In addition to being a musician, she is also a physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Durham, NC. She is an active member of the Performing Arts Medicine Association and she has a special interest in medical problems of musicians. While her work in medicine aims to heal the body, her life in music aspires to nourish the soul.
